Restart your computer and press F8 key repeatedly until you see the Advanced Boot Options menu. Click Safe Mode with Command Prompt. In the Command Prompt window, type net user administrator /active:yes and press Enter. Restart the computer and log in as the administrator.
In the System BIOS or System Setup screen, select System Security and press Enter. The System Security screen is displayed. In the System Security screen, verify that Password Status is Unlocked. Select System Password, update, or delete the existing system password, and press Enter or Tab.
Unlocking a Dell laptop when youve forgotten the password is possible through several methods: Use Safe Mode to bypass login and reset your password. Create a password reset disk to unlock the laptop. Use software like PassFab 4WinKey to remove password. Reset your Microsoft account password if you use one to login.
Restart the Dell laptop and press the F12 key repeatedly to enter the one-time boot menu. Select the USB drive as the boot device to boot the Dell PC. When the Dell SupportAssist OS Recovery tool opens, under Recover Back Up Files, click Start Backup. Once the backup is done, click Start Reset under Recover Reset.
Steps: Restart the computer and press and hold the F8 key to enter the safe mode. Log in with the administrator account. Go to the control panel and find the user account to reset the password.
If you have connected your Windows account to your Microsoft account, you can easily reset it online. Log on to Microsofts Reset your password page from an alternate computer. Click on I forgot my password, and then click on the Next button.
Change or reset your local account password when youre already signed in In the Settings app on your Windows device, select Accounts Sign-in options or use the following shortcut: Sign-in options. Select Password Change, and then follow the instructions. You must enter your old password to create a new one.
In the System BIOS or System Setup screen, click Passwords in the left pane. The Passwords screen is displayed. In the Passwords screen, alter, or delete the existing system/admin password. NOTE:If you change the System and/or Admin password, reenter the new password when prompted.
