Pre-syncope is the feeling that you are about to faint. Someone with pre-syncope may be lightheaded (dizzy) or nauseated, have a visual gray out or trouble hearing, have palpitations, or feel weak or suddenly sweaty.
Before fainting, it is common to experience some of the following: sweating, weakness, dizziness, light-headedness. shortness of breath. vision changes, blurred or faded vision, seeing spots or lights.
They are also referred to as syncope and cause a loss of consciousness and sudden involuntary movements like twitching or muscle spasms. When people have involuntary movements after fainting, its called convulsive syncope, which may look very similar to a seizure but is actually a common symptom of fainting.
Typically, when you are about to faint, you will feel dizzy, lightheaded or nauseated. Your field of vision may black out or white out. Your skin may also feel cold and clammy to the touch.
Before fainting, the person may feel light-headed and shaky and experience blurred vision. The person may see spots in front of their eyes. During this time, observers note paleness, dilated pupils, and sweating.
Fainting is a temporary loss of consciousness. If youre about to faint, youll feel dizzy, lightheaded, or nauseous. Your field of vision may white out or black out. Your skin may be cold and clammy. You lose muscle control at the same time, and may fall down.
Benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV) causes dizziness, vertigo, unsteadiness and nausea when you move your head. Common triggers include rolling over in bed, getting out of bed, and lifting your head to look up. BPPV is generally an easily treated disorder.
Before you faint, it is common to get warning signs such as weakness, dizziness, nausea, vision changes or anxiety. A faint can be caused by tiredness, dehydration, severe pain, anxiety, low blood pressure, low blood sugar levels, heart attack or stroke.
