Here are the most common causes of a printer printing faded text or images: Low ink or toner levels. Toner sticking to the fuser roller or problems with the transfer roller. Low ink or toner density settings.
You can solve this issue easily by increasing the print speed. If the pages appear faded, you can increase ink saturation by decreasing the print speed or increasing the quality setting. Usually, these settings can be found in the Advanced Properties menu.
Do label makers run out of ink? Generally no. Label makers are thermal printers, meaning they transfer heat from a thermal print head onto specially treated labels made from heat-sensitive paper. This means no refilling ink cartridges and no messy spills.
Prevent receipts from fading Place the receipts in an area with extremely low exposure to temperature changes, heat, or moisture. Clean and non-oily hands can also reduce the chances of fading from thermal paper receipts.
None of the Dymo LabelMakers use ink, they just use the self contained tape cartridges. If the print starts to fade this is almost always an indication that the batteries need replacing.
The issue may be caused by the tape cassette or batteries. A non-genuine Brother tape cassette may not print properly or there may be damage to the tape cassette. Weak batteries can cause the label printer to print faint.
A label will not be printed if there is no text entered. Is the tape cassette installed correctly, and is there enough tape remaining? Check that the tape cassette is installed correctly, and that there is enough tape remaining. Is the end of the tape bent?
Adjust the number next to the print method you are using thermal direct or thermal transfer (with a ribbon). By doing so, you are adjusting the print temperature. Increasing the temperature will make print darker and decreasing it will make the print lighter.
