Adjust the number next to the print method you are using thermal direct or thermal transfer (with a ribbon). By doing so, you are adjusting the print temperature. Increasing the temperature will make print darker and decreasing it will make the print lighter.
The issue may be caused by the tape cassette or batteries. A non-genuine Brother tape cassette may not print properly or there may be damage to the tape cassette. Weak batteries can cause the label printer to print faint.
You can solve this issue easily by increasing the print speed. If the pages appear faded, you can increase ink saturation by decreasing the print speed or increasing the quality setting. Usually, these settings can be found in the Advanced Properties menu.
A common cause of faded, faint printouts from your inkjet printer is dried ink particles causing a blockage in your printer. The printheads on an ink cartridge can be become blocked if the printer is not used for a period of time, so it is recommended to print a few pages each month to maintain the print quality.
Incorrect heat settings If the heat settings are too low, the opposite will happen and you will have a faded image. Having the correct heat settings will make sure that your label is printed correctly, and remove potential problems in scanning and reading barcodes.
Here are the most common causes of a printer printing faded text or images: Low ink or toner levels. Toner sticking to the fuser roller or problems with the transfer roller. Low ink or toner density settings. Low or high humidity.
Do label makers run out of ink? Generally no. Label makers are thermal printers, meaning they transfer heat from a thermal print head onto specially treated labels made from heat-sensitive paper. This means no refilling ink cartridges and no messy spills.
If your printouts are faint or have gaps, try these solutions: Run a nozzle check to see if any of the print head nozzles are clogged. Then clean the print head, if necessary. The ink cartridges may be old or low on ink, and you may need to replace them.
