CSV files are widely used for data importation due to their simplicity and compatibility with various systems, but common errors such as formatting issues, encoding problems, and incorrect delimiters can disrupt the import process.
However, CSV files also come with limitations that are important to consider: No Support for Formatting: CSV files cannot store formatting information, such as font styles, colors, or cell borders. Lack of Advanced Features: Unlike Excel, CSV files do not support advanced features like formulas, macros, or pivot tables.
One of the most common CSV import errors is that the file is simply too large. That can be caused by too many fields or records in the file, too many columns, or too many rows. The import error can be caused by limits set by the program using the file or the amount of available memory on the system.
A CSV file must contain every column for all attributes of its object type. If the attribute value is not required, a column must exist with the attribute name and a comma for any blank attribute values. If a column is defined as optional, it means that the column is required to exist, but the value can be blank.

csv files have a limit of 32,767 characters per cell. Excel has a limit of 1,048,576 rows and 16,384 columns per sheet. CSV files can hold many more rows.
