Tip: The exclamation point triangle icon in Photoshop usually means out of gamut, but in the histogram it is meant to indicate that the panel is showing cached information. Clicking on the icon will refresh the panel information.
When you say picker are you talking about the foreground/background color swatches. If so just hit d on the keyboard for default. If you are talking about the color swatches panel, you can choose the fly-out menu and reset swatches. Also for ANY tool, in the upper left is an icon representing that tool.
The default color display shows pixel values for the currently selected color mode plus the CMYK equivalents. When working in RGB, illegal colors that fall outside the current CMYK work space gamut are expressed with an exclamation mark against the CMYK value.
It appears as a triangle with an exclamation mark and will inform you that your chosen color may not print accurately in CMYK. Your design program may suggest a similar color to apply within the spectrum.
To find out toggle the Gamut Warning, go to View - Gamut Warning or press CTRL + Shift + Y. This setting will display the warning when we are outside the CMYK color space.
Out of gamut colors An alert icon and mini swatch color beside the newly selected color (see Figure 1) will tell you that a color it is out of gamut. This means that the current selected color will be out of gamut if converted to the current CMYK space, as selected in the Photoshop Color Settings.
When the warning icon appears, it serves as a visual indicator that the selected color may be adjusted or may appear differently when displayed or printed. It is often recommended to choose colors within the gamut of the intended output device or color space to ensure the most accurate representation.
A gray triangle with exclamation point means that one or more messages was unsent due to some reason. Try again.
