Men with very high testosterone levels may experience: acne. aggressive or risk-taking behaviors. excessive body hair. headaches. heart or liver problems. high blood pressure (hypertension) high sex drive (libido) increased appetite.
Notify your care team and seek emergency treatment if you develop breathing problems; changes in vision; confusion; chest pain or chest tightness; sudden arm pain; severe, sudden headache; trouble speaking or understanding; sudden numbness or weakness of the face, arm or leg; loss of balance or coordination.

What you can expect Menstruation stops. This happens within 2 to 6 months of starting treatment. Voice deepens. Facial and body hair grows. Body fat is redistributed. Clitoris become larger, and the vaginal lining thins and become drier. Muscle mass and strength increases.
A practical target for hormone therapy for transgender men (FTM) is to increase testosterone levels to the normal male physiological range (3001000 ng/dl) by administering testosterone.
What are the permanent effects of testosterone? Testosterone causes the following permanent changes: voice deepening, clitoral growth, body/facial hair growth, and sometimes balding. Testosterone may also irreversibly affect fertility, though the likelihood of this is not known.
Excess testosterone can result in mood symptoms or irritability, bloating, pelvic cramping, or even a return of menstruation. High levels of testosterone also result in increased estrogen levels, as a percentage of all testosterone in the body is converted to estrogen.
