As with a bubble sort, after the first pass, the largest item is in the correct place. After the second pass, the next largest is in place. This process continues and requires passes to sort n items, since the final item must be in place after the st pass.
Theoretically, it can take n1 passes to complete the sort. The order of the algorithm measured by the number of comparisons is of order O(n1.5) O ( n 1.5 ) in comparison with an order of O(nlog2n) O ( n l o g 2 n ) for the binary sort-merge. Three passes will be required; First Pass.
What is Radix 64 Encoding? Radix 64 encoding allows binary data stored in octets (i.e. bytes) to be expressed as printable characters.
The number of passes one needs to perform for radix sort is the number of digits. If the 3-digit number, we need to perform 3 passes; if the 6-digit number, we need to perform 6 passes.
So, the loop will run up to three times (i.e., to the hundreds place). That means three passes are required to sort the array. Now, first sort the elements on the basis of unit place digits (i.e., x = 0).
Radix sort sorts items by grouping them into buckets ing to their radix. This makes radix sort ideal for sorting items that can be ordered based on their component digits or letters, such as integers, words, etc. The grouping into buckets does not involve any comparisons.
