The first one is about the great king David, and the second one is from the great apostle Paul. amp;quot;David left Gath and escaped to the cave of Adullam. When his brothers and his fatheramp;#39;s household heard about it, they went down to him there. All those who were in distress or in debt or discontented gathered around him, and he became their commander. About four hundred men were with him. When dealing with a diesel vehicle, your EGT is a critical factor in its performance. Generally speaking, the lower your EGT, the better. At Manta Performance, we recommend that your EGT stay under 550C (as measured at the turbo outlet) to assure your engines safety.
If everything is working properly, 1250 to 1300 F. is a safe turbine inlet temperature, even for sustained running, mile after mile. Above 1300 F. things can start to get edgy. Remember, excessive EGT damage is cumulative.
Exhaust gas temperature sensor - Symptoms: Effects Warning lamp for glow plug system flashes. Warning lamp for particulate filter lights up. Engine control lamp is on. Increase in exhaust emissions (CO, NOx and HC) Poor driving behaviour because of shortened regeneration intervals of the particulate filter.
The temperature sensor does occassionally fail in a gauge but this is not often. The most common causes of an Exhaust Temperature gauge not working is wiring or incorrect installation. If your gauge is erractically jumping around or measuring maximum temperature this is most often the cause of a damaged sensor.
A quick way to check the EGT probe is to disconnect it from whatever device you are using to read it put an ohm meter across both output wires (the wire colors are usually red yellow). If you get an open reading then the probe is probably bad. If you get somewhere between 3 to 12 ohms then it may still be okay.
A faulty exhaust gas temperature sensor can negatively affect a vehicles after-treatment system, resulting in the following symptoms: Check engine light: if the ECU detects a problem with the sensor or signal, it will trigger the check engine light to come on.
A properly functioning NTC (Negative Temperature Coefficient) E-Type EGTS should display a normal operating temperature range of between 40//+900C and a resistance between approx. 100 - 200k. At room temperature (20C) it should give a reading of approx. 20k.
During normal driving, on a level road, EGTs should be in the 600 to 800-degree range. A lower cruising EGT can be a great indicator of getting good fuel economy. Even during normal driving, exhaust gas temperature is a value that can tell you how efficiently your engine is working at a given moment, gear, and speed.
