in this video im showing how i fixed an issue on a dell xps 13 laptop where lines were appearing on the screen this laptop ran windows 7 for years and never had this problem but as soon as i upgraded it to windows 10 this issue with the distorted video began luckily its a pretty quick fix and ill show how i did that now once it starts having the lines on the screen the only thing i can do to get it to stop for a while is a reboot so im going to do that to get started when the machine is finished rebooting and youre logged back into windows just right click anywhere on the desktop select graphic properties you should get a window similar to this one just select advanced mode and click ok the setting we want to change is the refresh rate it seems like the problem with the lines only happens when its set to 60 hertz so just change it to 40 and click on ok the screen will kind of black out for a second while it thinks about it when the video returns you should have a window like this
