hey theres Brooks here from document snap comm and today Im going to be talking about a quick way to tell if a PDF has been OCR door made searchable and also how to extract text from a PDF so one of the questions I get a lot is how do I tell if a PDF is searchable how do I tell if a PDF has been ocrd and theres a number of ways to do that but I have a very low-tech way that I usually used to do this and you can see here Ive got to PDF side-by-side so all I personally do when I want to check if a PDF is searchable in a map is take the most cursor go over some text and just try selecting so click and try selecting if it either doesnt highlight anything or highlights you know the whole page like you just saw chances are its not searchable its not ocrd now on this other side if I do the same thing with this document if I click on some text and drag and it highlights some text thats generally a good indication that the PDF has been ocrd optical character recognition and the PDF
