In this tutorial, we demonstrate how to convert form-based PDF contracts into structured data by creating a document parser. We'll focus on extracting key information from a standardized lease agreement, starting by selecting the "standardized contracts" option. After uploading sample contracts to establish parsing rules, we create a rule to extract the signatory's name by selecting the relevant area in the document. A text manipulation filter automatically splits the full name into first and last names. We then proceed to create a second parsing rule to extract the signatory's date of birth by using a pre-defined date preset and selecting the corresponding section in the PDF.
