Im curious Peter why have countries adopted these restrictions on data transfers well ironically enough this is not a new phenomenon in 1989 the EU government went about trying to protect data on mainframes and in 1995 they created something called the data directive and then under that data directive it was it was not had nothing to do with the internet that was just companys managing data in the e use of the Member States it applied to what ended up happening was though in 1995 or thereabouts-- when Microsoft started giving away Internet Explorer all of a sudden there were browsers all over the world that were free and so people started using the internet businesses and individuals so what happened was data started becoming stored on the internet and then we get across border to the EU and I would say it took some spy cases of one sort or another where there was revelations that one country was spying on another and this has been going on for years and years this is not new but wh
