In this screencast, we demonstrate how to convert form-based PDF contracts into structured data. We will create a document parser to extract key information, specifically main dates and checkbox values, from a standardized lease agreement. The process begins by selecting "standardized contracts" as the document type and uploading sample contracts to establish parsing rules. After the samples are uploaded, we create parsing rules by selecting specific areas in the document. The first rule extracts the signatory's name by drawing a square around the relevant text, and a text manipulation filter is applied to split the full name into first and family names. The second rule focuses on extracting the signatory's date of birth using a date preset.
