In this tutorial, we demonstrate how to convert form-based PDF contracts into structured data by creating a document parser. We focus on extracting key information, such as signatories' names and dates of birth, from a standardized lease agreement. First, we create a new document parser and select "standardized contracts." We then upload sample contracts to establish our parsing rules. To extract a signatory's name, we highlight the relevant area and confirm the selection, which automatically adds a text manipulation filter to separate the full name into first and last names. Next, we set up a parsing rule to extract the signatory's date of birth by selecting a date preset and drawing a square around the appropriate location.
