In this screencast, we demonstrate how to convert form-based PDF contracts into structured data by creating a document parser. We will extract key information, such as main dates and checkbox values, from a standardized lease agreement. To begin, we create a new parser and select "standardized contracts" as the document type. After uploading sample contracts to serve as blueprints for parsing rules, we create rules to extract data. For instance, we draw a square around the area containing the signatory's name, which automatically adds a text manipulation filter to separate the full name into first and last names. We then create a second rule to extract the signatory's date of birth by selecting a date preset and drawing a square around the relevant location.
