If you are eligible to have an offense expunged then you can file a petition to seal your records. The uniform Petition and Order to Seal can be found at .arlegalservices.org. You must file the Petition and the Order to Seal in the circuit or district court of the county where the crime was committed.
Dismissed felony charges can usually be sealed or expunged right away. In California, a felony conviction stays on your record forever, if you do not get it expunged. You may be eligible for an expungement if you did not serve time in state prison.
In Maryland, the ability to expunge a misdemeanor conviction like Possess Regulated Firearm/Ammunition Being Under 21 depends on several factors, including the individuals criminal history, the specific charge, and the outcome of the case.
Here are the main eligibility criteria to get your criminal records automatically sealed under SB 731: You were convicted of a non-violent, non-serious, and non-sexual offense (e.g., drug possession, theft, fraud, etc.). You completed your sentence four years ago, including any probation or parole requirements.
You cannot get a PBJ expunged if the PBJ was for certain alcohol related driving offenses (Md. A court has no authority to expunge aliases or grant an expungement in cases of identity theft.
Senate Bill 731 (SB 731) and Assembly Bill 1076 (AB 1076) are the main California Clean Slate laws. SB 731 is an aggressive criminal justice reform policy. If arrested but not convicted, your records will be sealed automatically. Its designed to reduce the long-term consequences of criminal convictions.
Californias Clean Slate Act, or AB 1076 or penal code 1076, automatically seals some arrest records and dismisses some criminal convictions. The law, signed by Governor Gavin Newsom in October 2019, started on Jan 1, 2021. People who qualify for this relief do not need to do anything to clear their records.
