- Hey, everyone, Eric Ramos here. Today, Im gonna answer a common question I get, which is how long does expungement take in Texas? So the answer to that isnt perfectly clear because a lot of it depends on the court. In San Antonio, a few factors play in. And the main factor is how busy is the court? How backed up are they? Right now with COVID, the courts are a little backed up. So theyre not processing cases as quickly as usual. Now before COVID, things moved on a relatively stable pace, as far as expungements, not non-disclosures, but expungement specifically. And usually when someone hires us, we get the case filed within a week and then the court clerk takes it and they have to accept the filing. That may take another week or so. And then its forwarded to the judge or to the court, and theyll set it for a hearing. Now by law, they have to give the states attorney 30 days to object. So usually the case is set for 30 days to 40 days after the judge receives it. Once the case
