The entire process can take up to eight months. How long does it take for the Department of Attorney General to review my application to expunge my criminal record? The Department of Attorney General's response will be processed up to three months* after the Criminal History Report has been completed.
The actual financial cost of expungement is minimal. To have a record expunged, the individual is responsible for fingerprinting, getting a certified copy of each conviction that will be requested for expungement, and paying a $50 fee (money order or cashier's check) payable to the State of Michigan.
