When a criminal history record is sealed or expunged, the public will not have access to it. Certain governmental or related entities, primarily those listed in Section 943.059(4)(a), F.S, have access to the sealed record information in its entirety.
Because of the required process, it typically takes up to 9 months to have your record sealed or expunged. This is because the first step in the process that everyone must go through is obtaining a Certificate of Eligibility from the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.
A person who was arrested for a felony, but is convicted of a misdemeanor can have the felony arrest expunged and can have the misdemeanor conviction expunged. There is no restriction on the number of felony arrests which can be expunged when the felony arrest results in a misdemeanor conviction.
What does that mean? Well, an expungement is a Court order directing all government agencies that have access to your record - the Clerk of Courts, the State Attorney, the police department, and the Florida Department of Law Enforcement - to destroy the record. Basically, it gets the charge off your record.

California criminal expungement is a process that petitions the Court to review a conviction and allows a defendant to withdraw their plea or finding of guilt; a new Not Guilty plea is entered by the Court, and the case is ordered dismissed, and the conviction set aside.

Additionally, many felonies may be expunged after the passage of 10 years from the completion of probation, parole, and sentence and there has been no conviction of any kind during the 10 year period. Article 978 of the Louisiana Code of Criminal Procedure outlines which felonies may be expunged.
You may be immediately statutorily eligible for an expungement if the final disposition of your case was that charges were: dropped, dismissed, acquitted (not guilty) or arrested without charging. This is true regardless of whether you were charged with a felony or a misdemeanor.
