Currently, the entire New Jersey expungement process takes approximately eight to twelve months to complete – although it could take more or less time, depending on your case.
Form CC-DC-CR-072C. For cases where ALL charges have a disposition of acquittal, not guilty, dismissal, or nolle prosequi, entered on October 1, 2021 or later the court will expunge the case automatically after 3 years. You may request expungement earlier than three years by using this form. There is no fee to do so.
The expungement process takes about 90 days from the date that you file your petition. - The State's Attorney's Office has 30 days from when they receive the petition to object to any petition for expungement.
However, charges that did not result in convictions, regardless of the nature of the crime, can be expunged. Crimes or felonies which resulted in a conviction can generally be expunged ten years after you have completed your sentence, paid your fine, or completed parole or probation, whichever comes last.
In most cases, you must wait five years after your sentence is served. All fines and fees must be paid. Sometimes, you can file for expungement after 4 years. You can expunge no more than one indictable conviction and up to three disorderly persons offenses or petty disorderly persons offenses.
Generally, you fill out a Petition for Expungement of Records and file it with the court that heard your case. If it has been less than three years from the time your case was concluded, you will also need to file a General Waiver and Release. A filing fee of $30 may apply. This filing fee is not refundable.
Online expungement is only available through Maryland expungement.com and not offered by a State or government website. This legal expungement service is particularly convenient for individuals who don't want to have to travel to the courthouse, obtain all the paperwork, drive home.

Under Wisconsin law, records are permitted to be expunged after a person was found guilty and when the sentence has been completed. Only misdemeanors and Class H or Class I felonies are permitted to be expunged.
Wisconsin law permits courts to expunge records in which adjudication of guilt is made. Those circumstances are limited to misdemeanors and certain felonies committed by a person under the age of 25 upon successful completion of the sentence or a juvenile upon reaching the age of 17 and making a request.
