Can the police see if you had a record expunged or sealed and the answer is no if your record was expunged the police if they did the expungement procedures properly should have sent you what they call a compliance letter or your actual initial arrest or case paperwork or destroyed it basically the police cannot or should not see an expunged record however if your case was sealed which means it was covered or hidden from the public the government including the police still have access to that record so yes if it was sealed the police would still see it

The total fee for a felony expungement is $300. A $50 non-refundable filing fee is due at the time the application is filed. If the application is granted, the defendant must pay an expungement fee of $250, which can be made in installment payments. The expungement cannot be completed until the full $250 has been paid.
Expungements and sealing typically require the individual to file a petition, appear in court, and serve a waiting period without reoffending.
To expunge is to erase or remove completely. In law, expungement is the process by which a record of criminal conviction is destroyed or sealed from state or federal record.
In addition, four states (GA, FL, ME, MT) have authorized automatic sealing, expungement, or confidentiality for non-conviction records held by state criminal justice agencies, but not the corresponding court records.
Many felonies cannot be expunged. Each state has its own rules. Some states allow for the expungement of all or most felony convictions. Other states do not allow felonies to be expunged at all.
Under federal law, the consumer reporting agencies cannot report an arrest over seven years old. However, they may report a conviction no matter how old it is.
Criminal records that are more likely to be expunged include juvenile charges, dropped and dismissed charges, and low-level misdemeanors. The process of getting an expungement usually begins with the person filing a petition with the court that handled their case and paying a fee.
The filing fee is $30 for eligible guilty dispositions and is nonrefundable, even if denied. The fee is for each case (not for each charge related within a unit of the case). If you cannot afford the fee, you may request that the court waive the filing fee.
