to create a hanging indent in powerpoint um itamp;#39;s going to depend on what the settings are are already in the program so i just have a blank slide here with my text so what i did is iamp;#39;m going to highlight the text and then on the home menu iamp;#39;m going to click this little arrow next to where it says paragraph and currently my indentation before text is starting at zero so iamp;#39;m going to bump that to 0.5 and then select here under special it might say none iamp;#39;m going to select hanging and then click ok the other thing iamp;#39;ll then have to do is go in and double space it so i like this little icon up here and i just select two um what you may want to do is just type all of your reference entries without the hanging indent first and then um just make sure you donamp;#39;t hit enter until the end of an entry type them all and then go in and set the hanging indent when i tried to set the hanging indent before i typed it did not work properly so i hope

To remove some or all of what youve written or drawn, right-click the slide, point to Pointer Options, and then do one of the following: Click Eraser, and then hold down the left mouse button and drag the eraser over what you want to erase.
Click the border of the text box that you want to delete, and then press Delete. Note: Make sure the pointer is on the border of the text box and not inside it. If the pointer is inside the box, pressing Delete will delete the text inside the text box, not the box.
To demote a line of text, click anywhere in the text. In this example, a new slide is being demoted to subordinate text. Click the Demote button on the Outlining toolbar. PowerPoint demotes the text to subordinate text.
Click the Home tab, and then click the Paragraph dialog box launcher. Under Indentation, in the Before text box, click the arrow to set the measurement you want, such as 0.5. Note: One-half inch is the typical measurement for indenting a paragraph. Click the box named Special, and choose either First Line or Hanging.
To change the hierarchy in the chart, select an item, and on the SmartArt tab, select the Promote or Demote option.
