Hello, Iamp;#39;m Bob Listenbee administrator of the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention - in the Department of Justice in Washington DC. We are here today to talk about the expungement of juvenile records. An issue that is near and dear to my heart. We are talking about it in conjunction with my colleague Ron Ashford from HUD, where they have joined with us to develop an unique initiative that focus on expunging the records of young people - who are connected with housing authority programs. Ron why donamp;#39;t you tell them about the work you are doing over at HUD. Thank you very much. Let me say, Iamp;#39;m Ron Ashford and I work at HUD, the Office of Public Housing. Iamp;#39;m the Director of Community and Supportive Services. So when you think of HUD you think of housing - there are people in housing and all the services really come under my office. I want to start by saying, Iamp;#39;m also the member of the HUD representative to the Federal Reentry Counci

While most convictions cannot be removed from a persons record, Texas law does allow individuals to remove information about an arrest, charge, or conviction from their permanent records in certain circum- stances. This is called an expunction.
On the other hand, if your record is expunged, it is forgotten for most purposes and likely sealed from public view. Receiving a pardon frees you from the conditions of your sentence and restores your civil rights (such as the right to vote or sit on a jury). But it does not clear your record.
To expunge is to erase or remove completely. In law, expungement is the process by which a record of criminal conviction is destroyed or sealed from state or federal record.
However, the documents are still there and can be opened with a court order. And, with nondisclosure, law enforcement agencies and all Texas professional licensing agencies will still see the records. Expungement, on the other hand, gets rid of your criminal record entirely.
Expunged records generally do not show up on background checks because the general public does not have access to them. In addition, if you receive an expungement, you do not have to disclose them when asked.
You cannot expunge a conviction for the following crimes: Driving under the influence, Driving while intoxicated, Murder, Indecency with a child, Sexual assault, Kidnapping, Aggravated robbery, Criminal solicitation,
Any remaining Enlightened players may also expunge the Enlighten buff on Ir Yut. This deals a sizable amount of damage and makes the DPS check much easier.
How Much Will It Cost to Expunge My Criminal Record in Texas? As a general rule, it costs more to expunge a felony than a misdemeanor. The expungement of a felony will customarily cost a minimum of $1,000, but may cost upwards of $2,500 or even more. Misdemeanors can usually be expunged for $1,000 or less.
