Can the police see if you had a record expunged or sealed and the answer is no if your record was expunged the police if they did the expungement procedures properly should have sent you what they call a compliance letter or your actual initial arrest or case paperwork or destroyed it basically the police cannot or should not see an expunged record however if your case was sealed which means it was covered or hidden from the public the government including the police still have access to that record so yes if it was sealed the police would still see it

Some felonies are eligible to be expunged if the defendant was under 25 at the time of conviction, has completed the sentence, and served less than six years in prison. These include charges like drug possession or theft. If the felony was violent or if the defendant has a prior record, charges cannot be expunged.
Only certain crimes are eligible for expunction; they must be non-violent, non-DUI and non-sexual crimes. Crimes eligible are most misdemeanors and some Class E felonies, including forgery, theft, vandalism, and fraudulent or false insurance claim, among others.
If you apply through the Washington County Attorneys Office, you do not have to pay the $300 filing fee to the Court. If you apply by preparing and filing a Petition for Expungement directly with the Court, you will have to pay a $300 filing fee for each offense or ask the Court to waive this fee based on your income.
Felons convicted of certain drug-related offenses are not eligible for SNAP benefits. Individuals disqualified for fraud are ineligible for one year for the first offense, two years for the second offense, and permanently for the third. Dependents of disqualified or ineligible individuals may be eligible.
