Hello, Im Vincent White, and today were talking about the New York Paid Sick Leave Act, and this is the New York State law, not to be confused with the New York City law-- which is very similar, but does have slight differences, and has now been amended to mostly match up with the state law. Now this law will be in effect on the 1st of January, 2021, and is not the same as the various provisions that were made for COVID. I dont want you to be confused there. This will be in effect January 1st, 2021. It will include all diseases, not merely COVID, not this strange requirement that you go and get a positive test for COVID to obtain your paid sick leave, so thats very positive. We wont have to jump through that hurdle anymore. A quick breakdown, the fastest possible breakdown of this law is that employers with four or fewer, four or fewer employees, and a net income of less than $1 million in the previous tax year will have to provide up to 40 hours of unpaid sick leave each year to
