Open Microsoft Outlook and click the New Email button to start a new email. Click the Options tab and select Encrypt from the Permissions group. Click the Attach File icon, and select the PDF file you want to encrypt. Compose your email message as usual and click the Send button to send the email.
A: Unfortunately, it is not possible to open an encrypted file without a password. Even if you know the file type, you will need the password to get access to the file contents.
If you have used EFS or a third-party software to encrypt a file, you may be able to unlock it using its file properties. Right-click the file in File Explorer, select Advanced and then clear the Encrypt Contents to Secure Data check box. If this does not work, contact the software provider.

Encrypted files do not have a special file extension, but they do have a padlock displayed on the icon. To unlock these files, all you need to do is log into your computer using your password.
To unlock an encrypted volume in Windows 10, you need to follow these steps: Connect the encrypted drive to your Windows 10 computer. Open File Explorer and locate the encrypted drive. In the BitLocker Drive Encryption window, click on Unlock Drive. You will be prompted to enter the password for the encrypted drive.
