To make your hospital stay more comfortable and stress-free, its a good idea to pack your maternity bag ahead of time. This should be done between 28 weeks to 36 weeks of pregnancy, giving you enough time to gather all the essentials. Remember, for a normal delivery youll probably be at the hospital for 2 to 3 days, but for a C-section it could be 3 to 4 days. Make sure to plan accordingly for your delivery. What to pack in a hospital bag: For your baby A going-home outfit. Approved infant car seat with the base properly installed in your vehicle. A few sleepers and onesies, socks and a hat. Cozy blanket and several receiving blankets. Package of newborn/size small diapers. Package of unscented baby wipes.
If you need to go to the hospital with your little one after giving birth, then packing 12 newborn nappies will be enough for an overnight stay. However, its always best to prepare for complications which is why its recommended that you do pack a few more.
