In the table, right-click in the row that you want to repeat, and then click Table Properties. In the Table Properties dialog box, on the Row tab, select the Repeat as header row at the top of each page check box. Select OK.
It may also help to think of the title as the topic sentence of the tableit tells the reader what the table is about and how its organized. Tables are read from the top down, so titles go above the body of the table and are left-justified.
Follow these steps to insert captions: Click on the figure or table where you want the caption to appear. On the References tab, click the Insert Caption button. In the Caption window, in the Label menu, select the label Figure or Table.
Keeping Tables on One Page Select all the rows in the table. Display the Home tab of the ribbon. Click the small icon at the bottom-right of the Paragraph group. Make sure the Line and Page Breaks tab is selected. Make sure the Keep Lines Together check box is selected. Click on OK.
A table header is a row at the top of a table used to label each column. For example, in the below table there are three columns with a Name, Date of Birth, and Phone header. Example of a table header in HTML. Header row in a Microsoft Excel table.
How to Change the Style of Individual Table Titles and Figure Captions Select the Home tab in the ribbon (see figure 1). Select all or part of the table title or figure caption text that you want to change. Use the options in the Font and Paragraph groups to select new style options, just as you would regular body text.
Titles/labels/legends for tables are always placed at the top of the table. A table should be stand-alone and hence, the title and footnotes presented should be self-explanatory. The number of words/information presented in the table depends up on what is being presented in the table.
Typically, boldface or underscore the word Figure or Table and the associated number in the caption, then present the caption in plain text with only the initial letter of the caption and any proper names in the caption capitalized (see example below).
A table header row is the top row of a table that acts as a title for the type of information they will find in each column. Its common to manually bold the top row to signal this information visually, but its important to mark table headers at the code level so the change is also structural.
Right-click on the first figure or table in your document. 2. Select Insert Caption from the pop-up menu. Alternative: Select the figure or table and then select Insert Caption from the References tab in the ribbon.
