In both MLA and APA, a footnote example includes the citation found at the bottom, or foot, of the page corresponding to the superscript number found in the body of the work. To change the font, size and formatting of footnotes: Click the HOME tab, and then in the Styles group, click the arrow for more options. Or, press ALT+CTRL+SHIFT+S. At the bottom of the Styles pane, click the Manage Styles button.
