PDF files retain some basic file description metadata, such as author, file name, and date, which can be minimized if the proper conversion settings are used (see page 31).
To tag a PDF in Acrobat, choose Tools Accessibility Add Tags To Document. This command works on any untagged PDF, such as one created with docHub PDF Printer. Acrobat analyzes the content of the PDF to interpret the individual page elements, their hierarchical structure, and the intended reading order of each page.
Choose File Properties. Click the Description tab, and type the authors name, subject, and keywords. (Optional) Click Additional Metadata to add other descriptive information, such as copyright information.
PDF metadata consists of information about the PDF document, which includes title of the PDF document, author, subject, keywords and copyright information. This information falls under searchable fields of a PDF document, which means that they can be accessed by search utilities.
Add metadata to a PDF in the Save As dialog box In the Save As dialog box, select the Document Settings check box and click Edit. Click the Document Information tab. Ensure the Do not add document information check box is cleared, so the editing is enabled in the fields below.
Choose File Properties, and click the Additional Metadata button in the Description tab. Click Advanced to display all the metadata embedded in the document. (Metadata is displayed by schemathat is, in predefined groups of related information.)
To edit metadata, visit 2PDF.com and select the function from the list of tools on the homepage. You can also click on All tools and select edit metadata from the library. Upload PDF File The function will open in a new page, where you can drag and drop your PDF file for editing.
Adding metadata to your document increases the searchability of your document. It also allows software applications to display information about the document to give the user enough information to determine if this is the document contains the information they are looking for.
