Have you ever come across a situation where you have copied and pasted data from some place else? So letamp;#39;s say from an email or a web page into an Excel sheet and then you realize any formula you write that references this range gives you errors? You dig deeper and do some research and you find out that one common cause for this type of error is probably because thereamp;#39;re unwanted spaces there, like leading spaces or trailing spaces that were copied when you brought the data to Excel. You find out that you can use Excelamp;#39;s TRIM function to remove these additional spaces. You do that and it works 90% of the time. Everything is great until it stops to work. You copy a dataset to your Excel sheet, apply the Trim function like youamp;#39;ve always done but this time TRIM doesnamp;#39;t work. (playful sad music) Let me show you what does. (upbeat music) So here in the second example, the TRIM function wasnamp;#39;t able to remove the space. Why? The formula looks li

In programming languages, type erasure is the load-time process by which explicit type annotations are removed from a program, before it is executed at run-time. Operational semantics not requiring programs to be accompanied by types are named type-erasure semantics, in contrast with type-passing semantics.
Generics were introduced to the Java language to provide tighter type checks at compile time and to support generic programming. To implement generics, the Java compiler applies type erasure to: Replace all type parameters in generic types with their bounds or Object if the type parameters are unbounded.
During the type erasure process, the Java compiler erases all type parameters and replaces each with its first bound if the type parameter is bounded, or Object if the type parameter is unbounded.
When storing various objects in a single collection, such as an array, that all conform to the same protocol, type erasure is frequently used.
Generics enable the use of stronger type-checking, the elimination of casts, and the ability to develop generic algorithms. Without generics, many of the features that we use in Java today would not be possible.
Generics means parameterized types. The idea is to allow type (Integer, String, etc., and user-defined types) to be a parameter to methods, classes, and interfaces. Using Generics, it is possible to create classes that work with different data types.
- Erasure is a type of alteration in document. It can be classified as chemical erasure and physical erasure.
