We recommend wearing gloves when working with them. Our pick: Amodex Ink Stain Remover. Our pick: OxiClean On the Go Pen Stain Remover. Our pick: Tide Ultra Oxi Powder Laundry Detergent. Our pick: Tide Free Gentle Liquid Laundry Detergent. Also great: Zout. Also great: Clorox 2 Stain Remover Color Brightener.
Sponge the stained area with a dry-cleaning solvent; let it air-dry. Soak the stain in a solution of one cup of liquid laundry detergent and a few drops of ammonia (Caution: Never mix chlorine bleach and ammonia - the resulting fumes are hazardous) for at least 30 minutes. Launder using liquid laundry detergent.
Removes Stains Vinegar is a great solution. Especially on white fabrics, vinegar can tackle stubborn stains by being added directly to your laundry or used as part of a pre-treating soaking solution, says Morgan LaLonde, laundry brand manager for Whirlpool.
In a bowl or spray bottle, mix 3 tablespoons of dish soap, 3 tablespoons of baking soda, and cup of hydrogen peroxide. Generously apply your whitening cocktail to the yellow stain and let it sit for an hour. Wash the garment in cold water as usual and dry.
One is to make a paste of baking soda and warm water. Apply this to the stain, scrub it with a toothbrush or your finger, then thoroughly rinse the garment and launder it as usual. Another natural method is to soak the clothing in a bowl of vinegar, then wash the item as normal.
If you feel like its your only option, though, start with diluted oxygen bleach and move on to chlorine bleach if necessary. Really old, stubborn stains sometimes respond best to liquid glycerin. Rub it in, let it soak and then launder again.
Mix equal parts white vinegar and olive oil in a bowl and saturate the wood stain using a paper towel. Let the solution sit for an hour to release trapped moisture in the pores. Wipe off the residue with a soft cloth and buff the wood until the stained area blends in with the natural wood grain.
First, soak the stained fabric in cold water for at least 30 minutes. Mix 1 tablespoon of liquid laundry detergent with enzymes with 1 cup of water. Add 1/4 teaspoon of white vinegar and stir. Use a Dobie All Purpose Cleaning Pad to apply the detergent-vinegar mixture to your unidentified stain.
