To decode with base64 you need to use the --decode flag. With encoded string, you can pipe an echo command into base64 as you did to encode it. Using the example encoding shown above, lets decode it back into its original form. Provided your encoding was not corrupted the output should be your original string.
Explore the possibilities Create a new workflow and configure your input tool to target the base64 encoded data. Convert the Base64 input to blob file type by using the Blob Convert Tool. Use another Blob Convert Tool to convert the blob to text. Now you data is formatted as text UTF -8.
Enable the strict decoding mode if you want to make sure that your Base64 string contains only valid characters. If you know what encoding the original data was in, select it in the Character Encoding list. Press the Decode Base64 button. Download or copy the result from the Text field.
What is Radix 64 Encoding? Radix 64 encoding allows binary data stored in octets (i.e. bytes) to be expressed as printable characters.
The -D flag tells base64 to decode the input. You need to hit enter after base64 -D before pasting the encoded string. Then ctrl+d after pasting to decode. This ensures base64 is ready and waiting for input before you paste, and knows when the input is complete.
In other words, any base-64 string can be decoded, as long as the string was encoded using a standard set of characters (which the decoder can also understand).
To summarize, you learned that decoding QUJD from Base64 yields the result ABC. As you can see, this is a very simple process and you can decode Base64 even by hand.
right click on the thumbnail and choose Copy link addres. It is important to choose this option otherwise it shows indeed a BASE64 image. Use that link in the remove outdated content content tool to request the removal.
