There are a lot of different options you have when you attach a photo to an email message on your Mac. Unfortunately, I see a lot of people making some critical mistakes when attaching photos. Also there are some other options that people could benefit from that they just dont know about. Im going to start off with the biggest mistake I see people making. They go to compose a new message and they want to attach a photo to it. Now let me do that the simplest way by dragging and dropping from a Finder window into a Mail message. Once something has been sent, it resides on the recipients device and only they can delete it.
Delete an attachment from a sent or received email message If you want to remove an attachment from an email message youve received from someone else or a message youve sent, you can do this one message at a time. You cannot remove attachments from multiple messages at once.
Recall an email with Undo Send Right after you send a message, you can retract it: In the bottom left, youll see Message sent and the option to Undo or View message. Click Undo.
Replies (5)  Open the email with the attachment you want to forward. Click the down arrow next to Reply and select Forward. In the attached files, maneuver your mouse pointer to the file and the name of the file will appear at the bottom and also an X mark. Just click the X mark to delete the attachment.
Remove Large Attachments Select the email message. Click on the dropdown next to the attachment, or click on the attachment. In either the dropdown, or in the Attachments contextual tab that appears when you select the attachment, select Remove Attachment.
Open the email message in the reading pane or double-click the message to open it in a new window. Select the drop-down arrow next to the attachment name and then select Remove attachment. Close the message and save changes.
Sadly not. Once sent, the message is out of your control. Although some email software may have a recall or undo, these functions are not doing what you think.
The Undo send function is a default feature of Gmail. After you send an email in Gmail, youll see the the undo option pop up on the bottom left of your screen. This allows you to recall the email. Click Undo to retract the email, and youll be brought back to your draft.
