Can gift cards be reversed?

Unlike credit cards, there typically isnt any recourse for consumers when a gift card is stolen or used without authorization, so it is very hard to reverse the purchases or get a refund in these situations.

Can gift certificates be redeemed for cash?

Some merchants may redeem the gift certificate for cash or a combination of merchandise and cash, while some may issue a new certificate for any balance remaining after the original certificate is redeemed.

Can items bought with gift cards be refunded?

Once a gift card has been used, the original sale of the gift card cannot be voided or returned until all purchases made with it have been voided as well. Refunding transactions purchased with the gift card (to restore the Gift Card balance) will not allow a refund back opt the credit card either.
