Use a Q-Tip soaked in a solvent like brake fluid, acetone, or rubbing alcohol to lift ink out of the page. If chemicals don't work, try carefully rubbing the ink off with an eraser, razor blade, or even a fine-grit sander. If the ink just won't come out, cover it with correction fluid or paper.
Both nail polish remover (acetone) and rubbing alcohol (isopropanol) are able to pull most common inks away from paper in minutes. Similarly, a non-polar dye would require a non-polar solvent (e.g. toluene or a similar hydrocarbon).
Start by applying the alcohol-based hand sanitizer gel to the stain, letting it soak in for a few minutes. Next, apply Clorox® Bleach Pen Gel directly to the stain and rub it in using the soft scrubber tip, and then wash immediately in hot water using detergent + ½ cup Clorox® Regular-Bleach₂ with CLOROMAX®.
A sand eraser, also known as a silica eraser, is an eraser with a gritty design. It wears down the paper much faster than a typical eraser thanks to that abrasion sand. This is the sort of eraser favored by some artists who use very heavy paper and need to remove ink from time to time.

Isopropyl (rubbing) alcohol is commonly used to remove ink stains. So you can apply it to any paper you're trying to erase the ink from. If you only have a small amount of ink to erase, use a cotton swab.
How do you remove ink after it has dried? Put down a towel you don't mind getting stained, and place the stained garment on top of it. Treat the stain with rubbing alcohol or an alcohol-based hand sanitizer or hair spray and let sit for at least 10 minutes before blotting and rinsing with cold water.
Whether you've got pen marks on the couch or pen marks on the carpet, ink stains don't have to be permanent. With the right cleaning process, ink stains can actually be removed from most household surfaces. COIT offers step-by-step guides to ink stain removal that you can try out in your own home.
