A flag variable is simply a boolean variable whose contents is true or false. You can use either the bool type with true or false , or an integer variable with zero for false and non-zero for true.
You want to do an Bitwise AND operation on the current value with a Bitwise NOT operation of the flag you want to unset. A Bitwise NOT inverts every bit (i.e. 0 = 1, 1 = 0). flags = flags ~MASK; or flags = ~MASK; . When you perform a Bitwise AND with Bitwise NOT of the value you want unset.
Bit flags are one or more (up to 32) Boolean values stored in a single number variable. Each bit flag typically has a corresponding predefined constant associated with it; this constant has the bit for this flag set to 1 and all other bits set to 0.
For Bitwise Not, the bitwise complement of the binary representation of an input value is determined. This means that for each input bit that is 1, the output is 0. Input bits that are 0 will be output as 1.
Unsetting a Flag The way to do this is to first invert all the bits of the flag we want to unset, and then do an and operation with that result, so `value = ~input`.
How do you remove the -g flag from the gcc and g++ command line? The -g flag sets the debug level to the default setting. You can find the debug options under Project Properties C/C++ Build Settings Debug Settings. In that page, you can select None for the debug level and that will remove the -g flag.
Declare a variable that will hold the bit flags. As needed, set particular bits (i.e., make the bits 1) using the | operator, clear particular bits (i.e., make the bits 0) using the operator, and/or toggle particular bits (i.e., switch the bits to their other value) using the ^ operator.
It is like true or false. If the value is 1 as it indicates on so it means true. Else the value will be 0 which indicates off so it means false.
