Turn on Markdown Formatting for notes. For this, go to Tools Options Appearance and check Use Markdown format in notes. If you decide to turn off the option, just uncheck it in the same way.
To create a fenced code block that spans multiple lines of code, set the text inside three or more backquotes ( ``` ) or tildes ( ~~~ ).
Notes, warnings, and callouts To add a note, create a GFM blockquote whose first line is [! NOTE] . To add a warning, create a GFM blockquote whose first line is [! WARNING] . To add a callout, create a GFM blockquote whose first line is [! CALLOUT] .
To remove the warning, you can either convert the character string to a valid numeric value or use suppressWarnings() to suppress the warning message.
Basically, every nbsp; in your Markdown source will be replaced with a space in the rendered output. So if you stick four instances of nbsp; before a paragraph, the paragraph will look like its indented four spaces. nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp; This is the first sentence of my indented paragraph.
To add a warning, create a GFM blockquote whose first line is [! WARNING] . To add a callout, create a GFM blockquote whose first line is [! CALLOUT] .
The basic Markdown syntax allows you to create code blocks by indenting lines by four spaces or one tab. If you find that inconvenient, try using fenced code blocks. Depending on your Markdown processor or editor, youll use three backticks ( ``` ) or three tildes ( ~~~ ) on the lines before and after the code block.
Symbols. Markdown doesnt provide special syntax for symbols. However, in most cases, you can copy and paste whatever symbol you want to use into your Markdown document. For example, if you need to display Pi (), just find the symbol on a webpage and copy and paste it into your document.
