your graduation Year from your resume okay okay okay okay here are my thoughts before you go running to your resume and deleting your graduation year first of all just know that all resume advice is subjective if you want to keep your graduation year on your resume thats why most people have it okay now that thats out of the way I hear my thoughts on this kind of love this you guys already know that I only really care about resume tips that reduce your chances of getting discriminated against and I kind of love this because its true your graduation year whenever you tell somebody the year you graduated you can just see them doing the math in their head but its not actually necessary for them to know when you graduated so I I approve but let me know what you guys think

What a background check will flag, however, is the dates that you were employed in each role youve listed on your resume. That means that if youve been less than truthful about your dates of employment in a particular job, youre likely to get found out.
Is leaving dates off a resume ever OK? Leaving dates off of some older jobs on your resume is generally an acceptable practice to avoid age discrimination. My rule of thumb is that if the professional experience or education happened more than 15 to 20 years ago, lose the date.
When to withdraw your application entirely. This usually wont be necessary, but if you fudged the dates on your resume by a lot and you dont think you can explain it away as a mistake, its better to withdraw from consideration before you get caught.
The primary date arrangement on your resume should be month/year in one of two formats. MM/YYYY (03/2022) Month Year (January 2022 or Jan 2022)
You dont need to include your date of graduation on your resume unless youre a recent graduate or still in school.
Generally you should list your work experience in reverse chronological order and add only months and years of your time on the job. Employment dates expressed in years only is also acceptable and beneficial, if you have short gaps in employment, or if you were at a certain job for an extended period of time.
Employment dates on a resume are important because they offer essential context into when you worked at your organization and how long you had to glean the skills transferrable to your next job.
An omission of all dates will not raise questions about job gaps but will make the hiring manager wonder how much experience you have and whether you have been working recently.
