Hi, my name is Jason Bagnell, and Ive been an I.T. professional for 30 years and I love making videos helping people like yourself get through some common IT problems. So, to do this its actually really simple. If the computer youre getting rid of has Windows 10 or 11, theres a built-in feature of Microsoft that allows you to just click a few buttons and securely erase the computer and have Windows completely reloaded with none of your personal file settings or applications on it. So, to get started, all you have to do is click on your Start button. On Windows 10, its on the left side in the bottom corner, and on Windows 11, its in the middle. In some cases, a clean installation may improve your devices performance, security, browsing experience, and battery life. To reset your PC, go to Start Settings System Recovery . Next to Reset this PC , select Reset PC.
How to wipe your computer hard drive Go to Settings. Choose System on the left side menu. Click Recovery. Click Reset PC. Choose Keep my files (removes apps and settings but keeps your personal files) or Remove everything (removes apps, settings, and your personal files).

For Windows 10, go to the Start Menu and click on Settings. Then navigate to Update Security, and find the Recovery menu. Next, select Reset this PC and choose Get Started. Follow the instructions to revert your computer to when it was first unboxed.
To reset your PC, go to Start Settings Update Security Recovery Reset this PC Get Started. Then, select Keep my files, choose cloud or local, change your settings, and set Restore preinstalled apps? to No.
To delete file(s) without moving to the Recycle Bin first, select the folder or files and press SHIFT+Delete (at the same time) on your keyboard. Windows 10 asks for confirmation before it removes the files when you are asked Are you sure you want to permanently delete this file(s)?, press Yes.
Lets see what those steps are: Open the Settings of the system. Click on Update Security Go to Recovery option in the menu on the left side. Choose the option Get Started under the Reset This PC. Select Remove Everything from the dialogue box that pops up like the one below.
