Granting ownership of a copyright is exactly what it sounds like you are granting ownership of whatever that creative work is. Now, it might be via work for hire and it might be via assignment and those -- that term, work for hire, is often used incorrectly. And a copyright, remember, is a bundle of different rights, so, the right to copy it, the right to distribute, the right to sell, and display, and all kinds of other things.
