In the TOC Editor, either select the TOC entry and press Delete or right-click it and select Delete from the shortcut menu. (Please note that the simple act of removing a TOC entry from the TOC associated with a Help targert doesnt necessarily mean the topic still wont get built into the Help output.
If the command \clearpage is used, and there are stacked floating elements, such as tables or figures, they will be flushed out before starting the new page.
\cleardoublepage is the same as \clearpage , but it also checks the number of the last ejected page; if the number is odd and twosided typesetting is in force, it fills another blank page so the new page to start on will be again odd-numbered.
The \cleardoublepage command will put in a blank page, but it will have the running headers and footers. To get a really blank page, use this command. If you want LaTeXs standard \chapter command to do this then add the line \let\cleardoublepage\clearemptydoublepage .
afterpage Execute command after the next page break Now you can issue \afterpage{\clearpage} and the current page will be filled up with text as usual, but then the \clearpage command will flush out all the floats before the next text page begins.
The \clearpage command ends the current page and causes all figures and tables that have so far appeared in the input to be printed.
In the simplest case you just use \thispagestyle{empty} after \tableofcontents . However there are several complications, so see the linked answer. One problem not discussed in the FAQ is if the table of contents is longer than 1 page.
