Factory reset a Windows laptop Go to Settings System Recovery. At the top of the window, youll see Reset this PC. Click on Get Started and select Remove Everything from the box that appears. From there, you can select to reinstall Windows from the local drive or download it from the cloud.
You can wipe your Windows PC in the Recovery section of the Settings app. To wipe a Mac, shut it down first, and during startup, use Disk Utility to erase your drive. You can also wipe a Chromebook in the settings this is called Powerwashing.
