To format an SD card on a Windows PC, first, insert your SD card into the computers SD card reader or an external card reader. On your computer, open File Explorer or use the shortcut Windows + E. Then click on This PC in the column on the left-hand side. Open the SD card in the device list. At the top of the File Explorer window, click the tab labeled Manage, then click Format. You can select which file system you want to format the SD card to using the drop-down list under File system. If you want to do a regular format, make sure the check box next to Quick Format remains unchecked. When youre ready to start formatting, click Start. You will receive this warning.
