Welcome to PathTrace Basics. In this video we will be covering Join Segments, Close Circuit, and Auto Join Segments. Segments must be joined together so the CMC has a path to follow when cutting or drawing. For openings, the circuit most be closed so the opening can be cleanly removed from the cutting material. Join Segments will take various segments and join them together. Click on Join Segments and then each element that you would like to join in sequence. If there is a gap between the selected segments, the software will attempt to close this gap by lengthening the nearest segment. If there are no gaps because all the pieces have been snapped together then join segments will join all the pieces together without a problem. Joined segments appear white. For complete openings you will also want to select Close Circuit and then click on that opening. If there is a gap in the selected opening, Close Circuit will attempt to fill it in.
