How to enter text in the Recommendation Letter

- So when were reading a recommendation letter, what were looking for is what kind of presence you are in a classroom. And thats very important to us because, ultimately, what a university is is its a lot of classrooms. Its a lot of people looking to discover new knowledge. - Teachers that can give anecdotes about a student in a classroom can be really helpful because were trying to imagine this student in our classroom and were wondering if this is a student that always is speaking up and always raising their hand, the student that the teacher would ask to watch the class if they had to leave the room for a minute. Or if this is a student whos fairly quiet and only speaks once in a while but when that student speaks, it kind of turns the conversation on its head. - What I recommend for students to do, and for you to do in this process, would be to sit down with that teacher, maybe even give them four or five bullet points of, you know, why you wanted them to write your letter

The first paragraph of a recommendation letter is where you introduce yourself. State who youre recommending and for what position. Establish how you know the candidate and include any personal, professional, or academic experience that helps establish your credibility.
Open with a friendly and professional salutation, such as Dear Dean of Students Marcus Smith. If you dont know the name of the person, use their title or department name. Establish excitement for your strong recommendation in the first sentence.
Along with [his/her/their] undeniable talent, [Name] has always been an absolute joy to work with. [He is/she is/they are] a true team player, and always foster[s] positive discussions and bring[s] the best out of other employees. Without a doubt, I confidently recommend [Name] to join your team at [Company].
If you are writing a personal letter of reference, include a salutation (Dear Dr. Smith, Dear Mr. Jones, etc.). If you are writing a general reference letter, say To Whom it May Concern or simply dont include a salutation.
[Briefly introduce yourself and state your position/job title, as well as your work experience.] [Tell how you know the referee and describe their top skills, qualifications, and strengths.] [Share a personal story with the referee where you highlight their strong points and key achievements.]
At the beginning of the letter, say how well you know the person, for how long, and how you became acquainted. Also give an overview or summary of your recommendation. Be specific.
Good recommendation letters should contain the following: Written in an enthusiastic way! Provide descriptions of your contributions to the work/academic environment related to completed tasks on time or your strengths; Always use action verbs to describe your accomplishments, skills, and strengths;
A brief introduction stating who you are, your relationship to the applicant and your personal experience or expertise. An overview of the applicants strengths as youve experienced them and as they relate to the recipient. A personal story that elaborates on one to two traits the applicant possesses.
