On your Mac, choose Apple menu System Settings, then click Keyboard in the sidebar (you may need to scroll down). Turn on Keyboard navigation. With this option turned on, you can use the Tab key to navigate to all controls on the screen.

Its Mac key code is 76 and its glyph is ⌅. Just look at such a keyboard: the Return key says Return, and the Enter key says Enter. If your keyboard doesnt have a dedicated Enter key, you can type the Enter key by pressing Fn-Return.
To add quotes, use cmd+shift+. on Mac or ctrl+shift+. on Windows/Linux.

The apostrophe issue is most likely due to the keyboard settings on your computers operating system. The keyboard on your OS needs to be set at US Standard and not US International. Scroll to languages and click on languages and input settings. Check the language you are using is the one you want (English).
To create the quote symbol using a U.S. keyboard hold down the Shift and press , which is on the same key as the single quote ( ) and typically to the left of the Enter key. Doing the Alt code Alt +34 can also create a quote.
The only way to overcome this is to press the key (which does not type the first quotation mark), then press the space bar (which causes the first quotation mark to then appear), then type the word, then press the key, then press the space bar (to make the second quotation mark appear), then press the space bar
Use smart quotes and dashes On your Mac, choose Apple menu System Settings, then click Keyboard in the sidebar. (You may need to scroll down.) Go to Text Input on the right, then click Edit. Turn on Use smart quotes and dashes.
