Place an Image in Photoshop Open Photoshop. Its the app that has a blue square that says Ps in the middle. Open an image or Photoshop file. You can either open an existing Photoshop file, image, or create a new Photoshop file. Click File. Click Place. Navigate to select an image. Click Place.

To perfectly center a layer, click on the layer in the layers panel, then press Ctrl A (Mac: Command A) to Select All then select the Move tool and click the Align vertical centers and Align horizontal centers icons in the Options bar.
Choose Layer Align or Layer Align Layers To Selection, and choose a command from the submenu. These same commands are available as Alignment buttons in the Move tool options bar. Aligns the top pixel on the selected layers to the topmost pixel on all selected layers, or to the top edge of the selection border.
