Hi everyone! In this video were going to start working on a blank workbook; were going to enter some data into a worksheet; and then finally were going to construct and copy some formulas using the sum function. So lets get started Im going to go ahead and open up my Excel 2016 program and I need to maximize my screen there, and you can see that there are a lot of different options here for when youre starting a new file, but in this case lets just start with a blank workbook. So Im just going to click that and then I came up here my default name says book 5 yours might say book 1, book 2, it just depends on how many files youve opened recently in Excel. But this is the default name, so in a second were going to save it and give it a new name. But I do want just to point out again that this this element here is the workbook which is the larger container and then within the workbook we have worksheets. In this exercise were just going to just work on one sheet, but obviou

The pi function works the same in Excel for Mac as it does in Excel for Windows. The shortcut for entering the symbol into a cell is different though. On a Mac, hold down the Option key, and press P.
What is the PI Function in Excel? The PI Function[1] in Excel returns the mathematical constant pi. To recap, PI is the ratio of a circles circumference and its diameter. Often, we would use the PI Function in Excel, especially when our business is required to do geometric calculations.
To insert the PI symbol in Excel, we must hold the ALT key and type 227 from the number keypad.
PI is used in Google Sheets to calculate the circumference and area of a circle. To use PI in Google Sheets, you can enter the following formula: =PI(). This will return the value for PI. You can also use PI in other formulas to calculate the circumference or area of a circle.
How to Use PI in Excel Open your Excel spreadsheet and type = into a blank cell to label its contents as a mathematical formula. Type PI(), which is equivalent to 3.14159265358979 in an Excel formula. Type the remainder of your formula. Press Enter to run the formula.
Enter text or a number in a cell On the worksheet, click a cell. Type the numbers or text that you want to enter, and then press ENTER or TAB. To enter data on a new line within a cell, enter a line break by pressing ALT+ENTER.
